A proxy server is an intermediate link between the user and the Internet. The information sent by the user is delivered to the server, which redirects it to specific sites. The server then sends the data back to the user. In this way, the user's real address is replaced by the proxy server's address. This technology has become popular in many areas, and millions of Internet users use it every day. One of the world's most popular messengers, Telegram, has not been spared this technology.
What is a proxy in Telegram?
In the 2020s, this messenger has become much more than just a simple messaging service. Today, it has the status of a real social platform where you can communicate, blog, join various groups, quickly find out news, share photos and other media files, even very large ones, and store data. Few people know, but it also supports the proxy function, which is optional but can be very useful for many users. A proxy is a special tool that allows you to use the messenger through an intermediary server. This option can prove to be very useful to a person by ensuring:
- Possibility to bypass the blocking. Telegram as a messenger is very convenient and safe to use. However, there are cases when the service is blocked in certain countries or regions or in the event of some temporary changes or events. With the help of a proxy, you can easily bypass all these restrictions and continue using your favourite messenger. This is possible by redirecting to a server located in a location where access to the messenger is not restricted.
- Improving user security. Using a proxy server is the best way to protect personal data from interception, as it will remain undisclosed. This provides additional protection along with the world's most secure encryption protocols that have been specially developed and used by the messenger.
- Optimal privacy. The IP address and other personal information of the user is replaced with server data, which allows users to remain anonymous thanks to the Telegram proxy. A proxy can be equally useful when working with the messenger on unstable or public networks. Using a proxy tool will help improve and make your connection anonymous. Before you start setting up and using a proxy, you need to understand that the messenger accepts only MTProto Proxy and SOCKS5 proxy servers. The former is developed exclusively for Telegram and guarantees high security. The second is optimal for bypassing blocking and achieving anonymity. It is recommended to use IPv4 proxies, not IPv6.
