Прокси для Tor

Why use a proxy for Tor?
Despite the extensive capabilities of the browser, connecting to a proxy server before connecting directly to Tor can significantly enhance user protection. This solution allows for achieving the following goals:
- Hide information regarding the use of the Tor browser. There are cases when using Tor is prohibited by providers, certain organizations, or authorities. Connecting directly makes the connection visible. However, connecting through a proxy masks traffic by redirecting it through an intermediate server. As a result, it creates the impression that the user is operating with a regular browser.
- Increase the level of anonymity. Using Tor itself provides protection by encrypting traffic in multiple layers. A proxy adds another intermediate layer between the user and the network. Even if someone tries to intentionally track your traffic, they will only see a connection to the proxy server, not to Tor. A high level of anonymity is especially important for users from countries with strict censorship, human rights defenders, journalists, and many others. Thanks to the proxy, even in the event of attacks or data leaks, anonymity will be preserved.
- Bypass blockages/firewalls. Using a proxy allows you to use Tor wherever you are. This enables connection even where Tor is restricted by router settings or blocked by DPI filtering.
- Spoof geolocation data. Although Tor alters your geolocation during use,
Features of application
To take advantage of all the benefits of a proxy for Tor, you need to know how to set up a proxy in the Tor browser. Here is a simple step-by-step instruction:
- Open Tor.
- Click on the “Menu” icon in the top right corner, then select the “Settings” section.
- Choose the “Connections” tab, then scroll down to the block “Configure proxy access to the Internet” and select “Configure.”
- Enter the details of the proxy server you are using. You will need to select the type (SOCKS5/HTTP), specify the IP and port, and if necessary, enter a username and password for authentication. All required information can be obtained from your provider.
- Save your settings, then restart Tor. To ensure the proxy is working, open Tor and visit any IP check website. It should display the proxy server’s address rather than your real one. For the proxy for Tor to function properly and perform all its tasks, choose a reliable provider.
